Dr Joanna Hart
Dr Joanna Hart is the Harwell Space Cluster Development Manager, working to develop the Harwell Space Cluster by helping the 80 space organisations at Harwell Campus to grow, and by attracting new companies to set up operations at Harwell Campus. Joanna joined the Campus and Cluster Development team at Science and Technology Facilities Council, part of UK Research and Innovation, in November 2017. Over the last nine months, Joanna has published a brochure on the Harwell Space Cluster, hosted an event highlighting five space companies delivering cutting edge technology and organised two all-female panels at Venturefest Oxford. Having worked at the Harwell Campus for 5 years, Joanna is passionate about seeing it grow and encouraging more R&D companies to establish operations here.
Previously, Joanna worked at the Satellite Applications Catapult for four years in the CEO Office. As Head of Evaluation and Impact, Joanna tracked key performance indicators and other measures to understand the economic impact that Catapult is having on UK space companies, in terms of jobs and revenue growth, so she developed close links to the Harwell Campus and the space companies within it. Joanna has nine years of experience in equity research at investment banks UBS and Credit Suisse, which involved advising global fund managers to buy and sell shares in European telecoms companies. Joanna holds an MA in Physics and DPhil in Particle Physics from the University of Oxford. Her thesis included a section on the Central Tracking Detector, which is now a museum piece at the entrance to her office building.
