Build a Body competition terms and conditions
1. Organiser
The competition is organised by Harwell Campus.
2. Eligibility
- The competition is open to children aged 5–12 years at the time of entry.
- There are two age categories:
- Ages 5–8
- Ages 9–12
- Entries must be submitted with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
- By submitting an entry, the parent or guardian confirms that they have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
3. How to Enter
- Children are invited to design, draw or describe their ‘body of the future’.
- Entries must be submitted via the competition webpage by 22 February.
- There is no limit on the number of entries per child.
- Each entry must include:
- The child’s first name
- A parent or guardian’s contact details (name and email address)
4. Parental Consent
- Entries will only be considered valid if submitted with a parent or guardian’s consent.
- By providing their contact details, the parent or guardian confirms they consent to:
- The child taking part in the competition
- The child’s first name being displayed alongside their entry
5. Use of Entries
- Submitted designs may be:
- Displayed on the giant Body wall
- Shown on the Instagram wall or other competition-related displays
- Only the child’s first name will be displayed publicly.
- No surnames, email addresses or other personal contact details will be shared.
6. Prizes and Judging
- Prizes will be awarded in each age category (5–8 and 9–12).
- Entries will be judged across the following categories:
- Most Creative Scientist
- Best Body-Inspired Invention
- Most Colourful Creation
- Funniest Idea
- All entries will be judged by a panel selected by Harwell Campus.
- The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative is available.
7. Winner Notification
- Winners will be contacted using the parent or guardian’s contact details provided at entry.
- If a winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable timeframe, Harwell Campus reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
8. Data Protection
- Personal data will be used only for the purposes of administering the competition, displaying entries and contacting winners.
- Data will not be used for marketing purposes or shared with third parties.
- All personal data will handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
9. Health & Safety
- Harwell Campus accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, damaged, incomplete or submitted after the closing date.
- The organiser is not responsible for any technical issues affecting entry submission.
10. General
- Harwell Campus reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw the competition if circumstances require.
- By entering the competition, entrants and their parent or guardian agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
