The Harwell Health Cluster brings together world-leading scientific facilities, specialist expertise and an established community of health and life sciences organisations.
From biopharma, medical devices and diagnostics to genomics, advanced therapeutics and manufacturing, companies at Harwell are working across the full innovation journey, from early-stage research and validation through to scale-up and production.
The Cluster is home to leading organisations including Moderna and Amber Therapeutics. Moderna’s Innovation and Technology Centre combines research, development and manufacturing capability, while Amber Therapeutics has established its headquarters for R&D, manufacturing and production at Harwell.
They sit alongside Agilent Technologies’ European R&D hub for molecular spectroscopy, Oxford Nanopore Technologies’ high-tech manufacturing facility and nationally significant institutes including the Rosalind Franklin Institute, MRC Mary Lyon Centre and Diamond Light Source.
Together, this concentration of companies, capabilities and expertise gives health organisations the environment they need to develop ideas, build partnerships and reach real-world impact faster.
