Over 100,000 sq m (328,084 million sq ft) of Design and Build projects are currently under development or have been completed at Harwell

Located on four new plots, these R&D enabled buildings will offer high volume manufacturing and Grade A office space.
Maybe you’re a mature business looking to relocate to larger premises. You want a commercial property to let as a statement HQ building, or a small, but flexible, incubator base for your start-up. Whatever your bespoke requirements are, Design and Build puts you among likeminded science and tech sectors.

The largest of the four plots is Fermi Gate. Located on the southwest side next to National Facilities and near retailers, it will offer offices, laboratories and light industrial units.

Tech Edge, with its sleek urban vibe, features mid tech R&D buildings, manufacturing, labs and offices. And being tucked away, it offers a higher degree of privacy – an important consideration for sectors such as Life Sciences.

Innovation Quarter consists of office, R&D accommodation and serviced laboratories. Harwell’s ‘hub and heart’ – this new development area will benefit from a mix of residential buildings, shops and a hotel. Where inspiring, innovative research and nature meet. The Quadrangle with its collegiate feel, overlooks a piazza style, landscaped central square, lagoon and Pavilion complete with a gym and café. Quad One and Quad Two buildings offer multi-occupied Grade A offices, while Quad Three and Quad Four are planning to lease office and lab space in 2024.

Innovation

Pull up a chair

At Harwell, your neighbours are some of the most innovative science and engineering organisations in the world. Our collaborative approach supports companies of all sizes, and companies here have access to a wide range of practical business support and funding, from grants and tax breaks to venture capital opportunities. What’s more, being at the centre of the Oxfordshire innovation ecosystem allows you to easily attract and recruit talented candidates from a wide range of fields.

Network & collaboration

Great minds, think…

Harwell is your gateway to a lively, 6,000-strong community – as well as a unique opportunity for holding talks with leading thinkers, scientists and senior politicians from across the globe. Make new connections at Connect Harwell, our central forum which links up over 200+ companies at inspiring events. And collaborate in our range of meeting room and conference spaces. The campus also organises free Special Interest Groups and Forums, C-Suite symposiums, and hosts university placements and apprenticeships for students in Science, Engineering, IT and Business.

Our clusters

Strength in numbers

One of Harwell’s greatest strengths is the way it brings people together. And basing yourself or your organisation here gives you easy access to the UK’s most unique professional clusters: Space, Quantum, Health Tech and Energy Tech. Each cluster gathers businesses, organisations and people from across the campus and the UK to share ideas, take risks and attract funding – and ultimately, solve the biggest problems facing our planet.

A healthy place to work

Where wellbeing comes first

Wildflower areas. Fresh air. Leafy walkways and views out to the rolling Oxfordshire countryside. Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Harwell is as beautiful a place for your employees to work as it is inspiring – giving easy access to green space, nature, and various walking and bike trails. A real pleasure to stroll around, the campus also runs a Bicycle Loan Scheme for staff to hire manual and electric bikes.

Harwell Campus provides flexible solutions to occupiers for development of bespoke buildings, to match their business, operational and growth needs.  Harwell Campus delivers a built environment that has sustainability, efficiency and a high-quality setting, that promotes health & wellbeing, community and collaboration, at heart.
