Duo Clinch OxPropfest Property Award Double

Angus Horner and Monika Zemla from the Harwell Campus Management team were honoured by UK Property Forums at the annual OxPropfest Awards, beamed live and virtually from the Clubroom at Bicester Heritage on 15th September. The event highlighted some of the best organisations and individuals in the real estate sector in Oxfordshire.

Event presenters Matthew Battle and Hugh Blaza announced that Angus had been chosen as the Leader of the Year, an accolade voted for by other leaders who felt his dedication to and passion for the property industry and Harwell Campus in particular, have been transformational in the region. His leadership of the Team since his investment at Harwell 7 years ago, plus work with colleagues to create the vision and master plan for the Campus, helped attract Global Asset Management Company, Brookfield who purchased a 50% stake in the joint venture in April this year at a reported value of over £200m. This investment will further grow the campus as an exceptional place for research, employing thousands more people in the future. Angus said ‘The award was a great surprise and I feel hugely fortunate to have been part of Harwell’s success as it is a unique and special place that continues to push the boundaries of innovation.’

Monika was nominated for the Futures Award of the Year (Young person under 35) in recognition of the significant contribution she has made as a Chartered Surveyor towards the development of the campus, during her six year tenure. Recently promoted to Associate Director, Monika said ‘I started at the campus as a student and I feel privileged to have been given exposure to the full development and investment cycle here. This has enabled me to qualify as a surveyor and to be rewarded by seeing the new and refurbished buildings being constructed and let to new occupiers at Harwell, knowing that many of them will make a genuine difference to the world.’

Matthew Battle, Founder and Managing Director at UK Property Forums commented, ‘It is our honour to be able to recognise and celebrate the well-deserved contribution made to the property sector by Angus and Monika at Harwell, a global facing Campus that offers a beacon of hope for the future.’
