AI Networking Breakfast

7th May 2025, 8:40 – 9:30 am

Join us for an AI and Machine Learning networking breakfast, hosted by members of the scientific community from across the campus.

Date: Wednesday 7th May 2025

Time: 08:40 – 09:30

Harwell Campus is a unique environment where science and technology converge. Groups like the Scientific Computing Division (SCD) regularly collaborate with the UK’s central facilities, including the Central Laser Facility, Diamond Light Source, and ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. This integration has spurred the development of many AI and ML tools specifically for the scientific community.

As more companies are drawn to the campus, beyond the core UK government-funded projects, it’s the perfect time to come together to discuss the tools and technologies being developed, explore potential collaborations, and chart the future direction at the intersection of science and technology.

After a short talk, we’ll break up into groups to discuss the following topics:

  • AI and ML for embedded systems
  • How much latency can be accepted?
  • Using retrieval augmented generation (RAG) models for tailored assistants
  • Copilots and their use for productivity
  • AI and ML infrastructure for on premises use
  • Teaching and learning resources
