Have your say: Designing Inclusive Laboratories

20th May 2024, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Advance Research Clusters (ARC) are currently conducting a research project with architects from HOK International Ltd and environmental psychologists from the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) to better understand how to design lab environments that meet the needs of both neurodiverse and neurotypical populations.

Following on from our recent survey [Stage 1] into creating inclusive lab spaces, we are now looking for participants (both neurodiverse and neurotypical) to take part in a 3-hour in-person workshop at our ARC Oxford campus on Monday 20th May between 10am – 1pm [Stage 2].

This workshop will help to identify design solutions and best practice guidelines for creating inclusive lab spaces. We’ll also look at how the results from the Stage 1 survey will feed into the physical design of a lab.

If you are interested in participating in this workshop and contributing to research that will ensure more spaces are built where all neurotypes are enabled equitably, please express your interest using the link below. You will then be provided with further information about the workshop before deciding whether you wish to proceed.

Lunch will be provided to all participants.
