Neurodiversity: Fostering an Inclusive Workplace Culture

This session will be delivered by Lexxic, a psychological consultancy that helps organisations develop environments in which neurodiversity can flourish.

This 1-hour interactive session will explore how organisations can create a neuro-inclusive culture, and explore communication practices to support neurodivergent individuals. During the session we will also uncover how organisations can create a support group, to champion neurodiversity.

You can expect to cover:

  • How to create a psychologically safe culture in your organisation.
  • The communications challenges that neurodivergent individuals may experience in the workplace, and the communication strengths they can bring.
  • What we mean by neuro-inclusive communications.
  • The benefits of providing alternative options for communication methods.
  • How to make written and web-based communications neuro-inclusive, including through assistive technology and neurodiversity-friendly formatting.
  • ERG what it is and how it can benefit organisations and individual employees.
  • The role of an ERG in providing peer support for neurodivergent employees.
  • The role of an ERG in advocacy and awareness around neuro-inclusion.

Participants will gain an understanding of neurodiversity, neuro-inclusive language, common neuro-differences’ impact, legal requirements, creating a psychologically safe culture, strategic approaches to inclusion, communication strategies, awareness and education, available support, and self-reflection on their organisation’s neuro-inclusivity.
