Lucy is a consultant leading on public relations (PR) for Harwell Campus and media relations for Harwell’s three Clusters: Space, HealthTec and EnergyTec.
Lucy sets the strategic direction of the PR programme and manages the delivery of activities, which can range from social/ media relations and stakeholder engagement to next generation skills-based outreach. She also works closely with the start-ups/ SMEs on Campus to provide PR training and media relations advice when they do not have an in-house function.
Before expanding into the Space and Energy sectors with this current role, Lucy’s career was within Life Sciences. She worked in award winning London based medical communications agencies where her clients included Eli Lilly, J&J, GSK, Amgen, Novartis and Astra Zeneca, amongst others. From there she moved to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society where she managed the external communications team. Having most recently held in-house senior positions within Pfizer and Bayer, working across corporate, investor and scientific communications, Lucy brings a deep understanding of the Life Sciences/ healthcare arena paired with a passion for turning complex information into something understandable to the average person on the street.
Lucy is an active member of her local community, often volunteering media relations support to local charities and is a Trustee of Be Free Young Carers, a charity dedicated to supporting young people in Oxfordshire.
She enjoys the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside where she lives with her husband, two children and dog, having moved back there from a 12-year stint in London.
