OBC RDSC in partnership with AWE

26th November 2024, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

In March 2024, the Government published the Defence Nuclear Enterprise Command Paper, which stated that AWE has commenced work on a sovereign replacement nuclear warhead.

At this event, hosted by the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Chilterns Regional Defence and Security Cluster, you’ll hear about AWE’s plans to deliver emerging programmes, build new infrastructure and drive innovation, working in partnership with an expanded supply chain.

Location: RAL Visitor Centre, Harwell Campus, OX11 0QX

Time: 10:00 – 16:00

Partnership with industry and academia is increasingly vital to supporting AWE’s mission in national defence and nuclear security.

AWE’s CEO, Nick Elliott, and senior members of his team will show how AWE intends to play its part in realising the strategy set out in this year’s Defence Enterprise Command Paper, Delivering the UK’s Nuclear Deterrent as a National Endeavour.

There will be presentations on major infrastructure projects, advanced manufacturing, test and trials, and electronics and electromechanical R&D – and what all this might mean for suppliers.

Local companies will give a small business perspective on working with AWE and MOD, and MOD’s Ploughshare organisation will present on access to innovations created by leading scientists and engineers across the MOD and government.

Attendees will be welcome to interact with the speakers in several panel sessions and in a “meet the opportunity owners” session at the end of the event.

RSVP closes on 19 November at 15:00.
