The Light Reel Film Festival – Mickey 17
As part of our 80th anniversary celebrations, we’re delighted to announce the Light Reel Film Festival, featuring films inspired by the world-class science and technology on campus.
Each film will feature an introduction from a leading scientist and be screened outside in The Quad, complete with a covered tent, giant screen, and comfy seating.
We’re finishing the festival with Mickey 17, the hotly anticipated sci-fi thriller from Oscar-winning director Bong Joon-ho. Based on the novel by Edward Ashton, this futuristic story explores identity, sacrifice and survival in a world like no other.
Harwell is home to institutes and organisations working on using genetics to improve health (and definitely not for creating clones of actors – that’s best done by special effects!).
We’re delighted to welcome a campus expert on genetics to give the expert introduction prior to this screening.
Food, drinks and snacks are available on site. Beanbags are provided but don’t forget your favourite blanket to settle in and get comfy.
