The Medical Sciences Division Business Partnerships Office is pleased to invite you to a networking lunch organised for the Industry Fellows and Postdocs Network.

Venue: Vincent’s Club, Oxford

We want this to be a social and productive networking event and so have opted for a fun approach. The event will begin with an interactive and focused networking session in which postdoctoral researchers can discuss specific challenges they face and benefit from advice from our industry attendees (and vice versa). We’ll finish the event with an informal networking lunch.

How will this event work?

Upon registration, each industry attendee is required to list ‘offers’ – information on what they are able to offer Postdocs and Fellows in terms of advice in relation to working in industry. The Postdocs and Fellows are asked to submit their ‘asks’ during registration, around what they are hoping to discuss with you at the networking event (or post event). All profiles will then be shared prior to the event in order to allow people time to identify who they would like to speak to.

Examples of ‘asks’ and ‘offers’ are:

• Asks: finding first role in industry, how to develop a specific skill, the drug discovery process, roles at a company that are not lab based
• Offers: checking your cv, transitioning from academia to industry, experience of the industry recruitment process
