AI Networking Breakfast

4th December 2024, 8:40 – 9:30 am

Join us for an AI and Machine Learning networking breakfast, hosted by members of the scientific community from across the campus.

Since the general release of ChatGPT in November 2022, interest in AI and ML technologies has skyrocketed, shifting these algorithms from research activities into the public domain. While these technologies have been around for years, this moment highlighted the cutting-edge possibilities and the vast potential for where they could go. Two years on, progress in AI and ML continues to accelerate, with new use cases emerging daily.

Harwell Campus is a unique environment where science and technology converge. Groups like the Scientific Computing Division (SCD) regularly collaborate with the UK’s central facilities, including the Central Laser Facility, Diamond Light Source, and ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. This integration has spurred the development of many AI and ML tools specifically for the scientific community.

As more companies are drawn to the campus, beyond the core UK government-funded projects, it’s the perfect time to come together to discuss the tools and technologies being developed, explore potential collaborations, and chart the future direction at the intersection of science and technology.

We invite you to join us to learn more about ongoing projects, share your experiences, and connect with like-minded colleagues.
