England Rugby Squad visits Harwell Campus to train with community clubs from around the country

Players from the England Rugby squad took time out of their Guinness Six Nations training to visit Harwell Campus this week to coach winners of a competition run by Canterbury, England Rugby’s official kit supplier.

Players from Dronfield RFC under 15s, Dartfordian RFC women’s team, Harrogate RFC under 11s and Harwell RUFC senior men’s team were the lucky winners to meet their sporting heroes.  The teams were put through their paces in an exclusive training experience with the England  players at the Harwell Campus rugby pitch, home of Harwell RUFC.

Talking about the training session Chairman and Head Coach of Harwell RUFC Matthew Rushton commented: “As a grassroots club having the England Rugby squad here for the day was a dream come true. Getting the players insights into the game, the tactics and the skills they use was brilliant.

“Our guys loved meeting them, and after speaking to the other clubs, everyone agreed it was a pretty special day, that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.”
