Sue Davies from STFC recently joined thousands of other London Marathon runners in her bid to fundraise for a good cause.

Sue put in hours of training to achieve the level of fitness required to undertake the gruelling distance but relished the opportunity to take part in such a special event.

Sue said ' the London Marathon provides a fantastic platform each year to raise awareness for many great causes including mine and I'm grateful to everyone who sponsored me including Bluestream Recruitment who are based on Harwell Campus. I had wonderful support on the way round which was a huge help as I found it to be extremely challenging. I was very relieved to complete the distance and make it over the finishing line!'

Coeliac Disease affects at least 1 in 100 people in the UK and Europe. There is no cure for the condition, only a lifelong adherence to a strict gluten-free diet.

Coeliac UK are experts on coeliac disease and the gluten free diet.  They are an independent charity helping people living without gluten to live happier and healthier lives.  Critical research into this disease is funded by the charity who work with healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis for sufferers.

Sue's sister was born with the disease and Sue knows more and more people who are affected by it every day.
