Good luck to all our Harwell Campus London marathon runners on Sunday including Sue Davies from STFC who has been putting in hard training to take part in the event and raise funds for charity.

On Sunday 23rd April Sue Davies from STFC will attack the streets of London and run the London marathon in aid of Coeliac UK.

She has been putting in hours of training to achieve the level of fitness required to undertake the gruelling distance but relishes the opportunity to take part in such a special event.

Sue says ' the London Marathon provides a platform to raise awareness for many great causes including mine and I'm grateful to everyone who has sponsored me including Bluestream Recruitment who are based on Harwell Campus. The fundraising will make the challenge all worthwhile!'

Coeliac Disease affects at least 1 in 100 people in the UK and Europe. There is no cure for the condition, only a lifelong adherence to a strict gluten-free diet.

Coeliac UK are experts on coeliac disease and the gluten free diet.  They are an independent charity helping people living without gluten to live happier and healthier lives.  Critical research into this disease is funded by the charity who work with healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis for sufferers.

Sue's sister was born with the disease and Sue knows more and more people who are affected by it every day.
